If your vet is a good ferret vet they will be able to help her out.

and pawing at the mouth, I know you said just licking). She also could
have an injury to a tooth or anywhere inside her mouth that is making
her not want to eat. That has happened to one of mine this year. She
lost a LOT of weight even when it was out due to not wanting to eat
all the time like she used to due to the strange feeling of it being
gone. It also could be ulcers.
I would ask your vet about these things and see what they think - of
course have he/she look inside her mouth and at her teeth just in
case. If there is nothing apparent there like broken/hurting teeth or
sores or ulcers, I would recommend a glucose check just to see where
it's at and if that comes back normal, a blood panel would be a good
start to see if something else more seriously wrong is happening.
