Subject: [ferrethealth] Use of glucosamine chondroitin ?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
As I have posted earlier, my ferret has a broken hip. A few kind people
have posted stories about other pets (Dogs) that have similar problems.
One has suggested looking into glucosamine chondroitin.
Was wondering if anyone has any information of the use of this in
ferrets. Is this used? How much, how often? Aprox. Cost?
So far she is doing better. She has passed no blood in several days,
eating well and passing more urine. Activity level is better as far as
her interest in being pet and nuzzling in blankets. She wants t get up
and walk around but after a minute or two I think it hurts so gets back
in bed.
She is being confined to a play pen and single level cage to allow her
hip to heal as best as possible considering how it's broken. Climbing
really wouldn't be at this time, probably never.
Thanks in advance for ANY help as I am far away from anyone qualified
to see ferrets. To see her X-rays, see the thread 'Vets please look at
X-rays!'
