Subject: [ferrethealth] Advice Please Insulinoma
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Gordy is our 7 year old ferret. He has He had Insulinectomy and
Adrenalectomy left side October 5, 06. Out vet found a large tumor
that he removed and many small tumors as well. The small tumors are
causing problems now. The Insulin panel we hade done July 17th this
year showed his Insulin at 787, Glucose 2.2 Insulin Glucose ratio 358.
He currently taking 0.2 ml L-Diazoxide every twelve hours and 0.3 Pred
every twelve hours. He is still crashing (limp, drooling, eyes glazed,
breathing labored) every couple of days. We have been lucky so far and
have been able to bring him back. Does anyone have any suggestions we
could present to our vet. He several ferrets each day and always open
to suggestions. Gordy also gets Melatonin every day. Thank you for any
help you are able to give me.
