Did the vet check the ear for earmites? THat is what the ear looks
like to me.

I do have a ferret that got something similar on feet, tail, face
even when my other ferret was in rut, it looked like the whole hob
kind of greasy, dirty kind of skin. I cleaned it up and washed him,
and it did get better, but not much and even did try revolution.
But the thing that worked was to have a friend watch him and it went
away, I am guessing something to do with my other ferret. Anyway, it
is hard to say it is the same thing, plus mine had it around tail and
almost those hob stains around eyes.

I also think about distemper when it is on the pads of the feet, but
after 4 months and no other signs, that is unlikely. Plus that is
more a crusting, thickening of the pads. Much different then what I
saw in the pictures.The ferret will also get it around the nose,
eyes, chin and be sick.
