I don't know what the Aleutian's Disease status is for those animals,
but they were housed with mink who can carry it.
**Aleutian's certainly is a biggie, although so far the ones that I've heard
test results on are negative. Doesn't matter - every one of the ones we're
taking in will be tested before they come in our house (they'll be staying at
the hospital until the test results come back).
Parasites are likely, especially ear mites, but since they were housed
outside, internal parasites have to be an issue that gets checked for, especially
heartworm disease, but also intestinal parasites.
You may see dietary issues, due to stress and food changes.
They're likely to be terrified and need lots of patience.
Most are not skilled at using litter pans yet - and may never be.
They have not been vaccinated, unless the shelter you're getting them from
has done so.**
