Subject: [ferrethealth] Adrenal gland biopsy. - necrotic tissue?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

My ferret Alvin had adrenal surgery this Wednesday, we thought it was
only going to be one as he does not have any hairloss, sexual
behavior, aggression, etc. He has been itchy a lot which is why we
tested him. Suprisingly he wound up needing a bilateral, and when we
sent the tissue in for a biopsy, it came back as "necrotic" tissue and
the vet said we are lucky we did not wait longer to do the surgery. I
am wondering what would cause this and if someone could explain how
there can be necrotic tissue in a living ferret. Thanks!
