Thanks for your reply. The people at the rescue place I got him reckon
that rescues often bulk up a lot after they come in, particularly if
they haven't had enough food previously, they simply gorge themselves.
I'm not sure about that one! I think it more comes down to lack of
exercise. Luckily we don't have many ferret specific treats here. MOST
people who keep ferrets here are pretty switched on, they're not
really a 'fad' pet. That said, there are still a lot that get dumped.

His teeth look really good so looks like he's eaten something to keep
them okay, he's probably about 2.

My girl is a maniac so I'm hoping her energy will keep him
enthusiastic and running around. I'm going to take him to the vet soon
for a checkup and see what they say. But I'm hoping what you said is
true. A few weeks on decent food and a good exercise regime hopefully
he'll improve.
