Subject: [ferrethealth] Amoxi vs clavamox
I understand that amoxicillin and clavamox are the same antibiotic, it
is just that clavamox also contains clavulanate to inhibt enzymes that
would render amoxi inactive. I know that clavamox can also be harsher
on the digestive tracks and cause vomitting in some animals,
especially cats. All of this being said, which is better for use in
ferrets to treat a potential systemic infection (only symptoms are
swollen lymph nodes and mild lethargy)?
