Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] Patchy hair loss, itching

Do you bathe Bailey a lot? maybe the skin is just very dry. What kind of food do you feed him? Since the ferret is 5 or 6 years old it is probably the beginning of adrenal disease. I have a female ferret who has adrenal and she has a bald spot on her head, two little bald spots on her back feet, and the area on her tummy that has already thin hair, hardly has any. I give my ferret melatonin implants, and they work very well. Adrenal disease does not have to have a pattern. The good thing about adrenal disease is that it is really easy to treat. i have two ferrets with it, and one that i believe to be pre-adrenal.
