Hi Leo,

The swelling of the vulva in the photos is minimal at this stage, it is
likely beginning heat cycle unless the females belly is full and firm.

In the case of the firm, full belly it could mean either pregnancy or false
pregnancy. A false pregnancy leads into a heat cycle immediately.

I do hope that this ferret is isolated away form others at this point.

A pregnant ferret when stressed will kill it's young as a protective
measure.. it has been noted numerous times that the females were tossed in
with males for breeding so I would urge the utmost of caution. A;sp oif
th4e female was pregnant but was vaccinated, treated for ear mites or other
medication was administered, the kits will be stillborn or be re absorbed.

Many medications and all vaccines have disasterous ramifications on unborn
kits.

Best wishes,

Alicia D.
