Well, your post raised more questions than it answered. When my
ferret, Dodger, had what appeared to be something in his belly, we
thought it was a hairball, too. THe vet (not a ferret vet) offered to
remove it and I agreed. When he got to the liver, something popped
out. It was a biliary cyst adenocarcinoma. The cystic quality in front
of the stomach made it appear to be in the stomach.
I am not a vet, but am sure my vet would want a little more info.
Could you supply the following, plaease?
1. age of ferret
2. how much weight loss? Has weight stabilized? Has she regained all
lost weight? (What was her weight and what IS her weight now?
3. What antibiotic? how much and why? other than elevated WBC, I presume
4. * First vet suggested it may be DIM or Aleutians or LSA
WHY? Was ferret tested for ADV?
5. If carafate helped, why was it not refilled? Was ferret on other drugs?
6. Could you post the values of both sets of bloodwork? It may help
the vets on the list.
7. Heart problems? Did they occur after all of this? Or with it?
