To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
I only signed up a week or so ago. We took in an albino ferret that
we dubbed Stuart Little. Sadly Stuart Passed away today. He was only
real sick for the last few days. His kidneys failed; why, we don't
know. We had him for only six short weeks and the hole he has left is
enormous. He was at the vet Monday for cloudy pee and dark stool.
Rushed him back this morning because he was severely dehydrated and
lethargic, could not stand, only raise his head for a few seconds.
Vet drew blood this morning and his kidney function was off the
chart. Vet said he would was dying and sub que fluid would rehydrate
him and make his last few hours or days less difficult. I've never
had a ferret before and never realized how loving they could be. He
gave me kisses as long as he could and snuggled in my neck. I've
enjoyed hearing about and seeing pics of your weasels. I am going to
unsub from both lists about ferrets. I can't read them without crying
and thinking Stuart. Kay
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in
a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming... "Whoa! What
a ride!'"
