Subject: [ferrethealth] Fat vs. Swollen Lymph Nodes?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

One of my two MF boys tends to be fatter than his room-mate, and
lately it seems like his lymph nodes might be swollen, at least, he
has observable fatty lumps on both sides of his neck, under both
elbows and palpable ones just in front of his inner thighs.

His overall attitude is great, (I posted about a year ago about him
being super lethargic and depressed by being cooped up with an
over-active sib, but since letting both boys have full run of my room,
his behavior has fully changed and he seems much happier).

What other signs should I look for to tell the difference, or are
possibly swollen nodes enough indication for a trip to the vet? (we
have an excellent ferret-aware, not necessarily knowledgeable vet in
the area).

Thanks,
Hillary, Smokey, and Bandit (yes, these are very creative names for
the duo destructo that are my boys).
