Subject: [ferrethealth] Safety of professional carpet cleaning?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Question for the group - my three ferrets live in a dedicated bedroom. I
keep the door shut even when I am at work during the day in their room so I can
keep the room at the right temperature for them. We also have a cat. The
other day, I left for work not realizing that the cat had snuck into the room
while I was cage cleaning ! He was in the room for over eight hours and he
urinated on the carpet/I guess he couldn't hold it. It really stinks in
there - cat urine is the worst. I have scrubbed with Nature's Miracle and it
doesn't get rid of the stench. Although many professional carpet cleaning
companies will say that their product is safe for small animals, I am worried. I
want to get it professionally cleaned. Does anyone have any safety advice on
this?
Thanks, Lisa and Bridget, Clementine and Lily
ps. A picture of Clementine was featured in our local newspaper's Critter
Corner segment yesterday !
