This is the first reaction I've dealt with (he's actually the first
ferret I've ever had), but from other descriptions I've read in the
archives and such, I agree that it wasn't especially severe. What are
the chances that his next reaction will be worse?

Also, if there are folks out there who pre-med with dexamethasone and
Benadryl, I'd like to hear those experiences. I read an article in
the archives today about a ferret who had an extremely severe reaction
to the rabies vaccine. All subsequent rabies vaccinations were given
with three days of pre-medication with dexamethasone, and then on the
day of the vaccination, dexamethasone and Benadryl. The ferret never
had a reaction again. I think that the multi-day protocol might be a
little extreme for us given the relative severity of Logan's reaction,
but maybe we should try dexamethasone in addition to the Benadryl on
the day of the vaccination next time around?
