Subject: [ferrethealth] capstar in ferrets
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Capstar was given to Nemo and he suffered temporary severe neurological
effects and hypersalivation for 3 days. I contacted the company that
makes capstar and talked with the vet. He said capstar was not tested
on ferrets.

Because capstar is a poison and is dosed by ingestion, and with personal
experience, I personally would not use it on ferrets.

We use advantage and it works very well and haven't had any adverse
reactions in our ferrets.
