Since my ferrets are rarely outside and if they are they are kept under close eye, they do not
receive a rabies shot, they do however, always get their distemper. Unlike rabies, distemper is
a lot easier for a ferret to get. All you really have to do is be around an animal that is caring it
and you can transfer it to your babies. I suggest finding a vet who specializes, even if you
have to travel a little farther then you'd like (remember it is only once a year) and tell them of
your vaccination problems. Ask their opinions and always stay at least a half hour after the
shot to make sure thee are no immediate reactions. Also ask her if you notice reactions at
home what you should do while taking the baby back to the vet. Distemper vaccine is the
most important vaccine to get for you fuzzy.
