Hi Renee,
Yes ferrets that have not been vaccinated before need
1 dose of the distemper vaccine then a booster in 3 weeks.
Likewise if the adults have not been vaccinated recently then
they will also need a booster vaccine.
Now "the pain med question" is interesting. What med was
used and what dose was giving? One of the safer pain medication
options is to use Pediapred or an injection of pred or dex.
Very few side effects from a dose of steriods and no interaction
problem with the anesthesia.
