Subject: [ferrethealth] Lack of coordination in ferret
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Last month I adopted two ferrets that were abandoned. The female (Lella) is fine but the male (Fry) has a strange problem that has so far stumped our Vet. He lacks physical coordination. When he walks he sort of flops around and often falls over, like he has no sense of balance. When he does a "war dance" he'll fall over backward. When we first got him we had a complete exam done and found horribly dirty ears with a yeast infection. We cleaned the ears and used two different ears drops twice a day as well as an oral med to treat him. The ears have pretty much cleared up but the coordination problem persists. Our Vet is checking with some other Vets but to date has no clues as to what the problem is. I'm wondering if the prior lack of care for Fry has caused some sort of damage to his balance or ??? Any ideas ??
