Hi, I'm not sure how you could exactly pinpoint that its the spleen thats enlarged in her, but I know when the spleens get enlarged, it is hard and I'm pretty sure its sort of off to the left of her. Its common for ferrets to get enlarged spleens... sometimes for unknown reasons, or from an infection, or from lymphoma (unfortunetely). Definately get her to a ferret vet asap, they would probably do bloodwork first, which if the white count is elevated, it probably means an infection... or if it is lymphoma, her lymph nodes may be enlarged (need a biopsy or aspirate to confirm lymphoma). I hope it is not lymphoma, but in case it is, get her to a vet quick, as lymphoma is a fast one. For lymphoma, there's options of chemo or Pred. If you have a ferret shelter in your area, you might give them a call and see who they use for a vet. Or there are lists if you do a google search for recommended vets in your area.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this group. I have a medical concern. My 5
year old female ferret has recently developed an enlarged abdomen but
is acting healthy. It happened kind of quickly I think over a couple
of weeks. Its not fat for the winter she has hardly any fat on her...
