It may not be the spleen, if she feels soft, like a balloon full of water
then it may be fluid build-up (ascites) and this can be caused by
many things. An ultrasound may be useful but a full blood work-up
may be more useful.
My 5 yo Sue had these symptoms and there was no obvious cause
despite 2 vet visits for ultrasound and blood tests until an
exploratory op revealed liver cancer. She was her normal active self
with no other signs of illness (wrestling with her friend Sugar) until we
left for the vets office.
If there is a local ferret rescue/shelter/club they may know a good
vet.
