Quote (wikipaedia)
Hemangiosarcoma is a rare, rapidly growing, highly invasive variety
of cancer. It is a blood-fed sarcoma; that is, blood vessels grow
directly into the tumor and it is typically filled with blood. A frequent
cause of death is the rupturing of this tumor, causing the victim to
rapidly bleed to death.

Sue's liver was entirely black except for a small portion of 1 lobe. The
vet said if he touched it would rupture and the bleeding would be
uncontrollable.
As it was on the point of rupturing anyway and could well have
done so during closure it was decided that she would be euthanased.
I was in total shock as it was so unexpected from her behaviour, my
only regret is that I was not able to say goodbye to her. It still hurts
to this day.

In memory of Sally and Sue.
