Anyone ever heard of a young kit (6 months old) having
hypoglycemia? I read in one of my ferret vet books this can be
caused (in young kits) because of reduced intake/underproductcaused
or by severe malnutrition or starvation.

**That's certainly one possibility, however that tends to correct itself as
soon as the animal gets fed properly. I have seen low blood sugar in very ill
animals. Insulinoma, although unlikley, is possible in a ferret this young.

However, I have to say that the most likely explanation for this, IMO, would
have to be lymphoma infiltrating the pancreas. Lymphoma in young ferrets
routinely shows up in the chest, but can show up anywhere, and that would be the
top of my list. Hopefully I'll be wrong on that and it will be something more
treatable.**
