These Ivermectin symptoms brought up here sound quite a bit like symptoms
which occur in dog breeds with ivermectin sensitivity. Collies and related
breeds may inherit a mutant gene which allows toxins to enter the brain, instead
of preventing it. There is actually a test in dogs which can tell if the dog
does or does not have the gene responsible for ivermectin sensitivity. There
is no reason to believe that there may not be similar issues with ferrets and
I would imagine that there aren't many studies on ferrets and Ivermectin (it
took years for there to be any conclusive studies about collies and the
drug, even though it was known among breeders and many vets that there were
