Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Ferret suddenly died - need input
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I had the same thing happen to me about three weeks ago. My little girl
podo died suddenly. She was fine then on a sunday she just was
breathing heavy and didnt want to move, she flopped over and couldnt
walk either. I called the emergency vets but due to my injury i coudnt
drive (45 mins away) so i waited for a ride but that never ended up
happening, do i stayed with her and watched her and i had set my alarm
to wake up very early and rush her to the vet, she suddenly died two
hours after i went to bed. I feel sad knowing that there was a reason
aside from her double adrenial cancer. I guess i didnt know that there
was a fixable cause to this problem. Its almost as sad as watching my
other male dying, I wonder if anyone else has been through this either,
he has eye cancer, in both eyes, the tissue has grown over both and my
vet has told me theres nothing i can do, not even being able to remove
his eyes either, he is totally blind. Anyone been through that
experience before? I feel helpless after podo passed to help my male,
he almost seems lost without her but i want to try and help him as much
as i can.
