Subject: [ferrethealth] Urinary problem
Suki female 16 mth old spayed (at 8 mths) has shown decreased
activity levels over the last week or so. Eating normally, excessive
urination. Slightlly enlarged abdomen, very squishy, good winter
weight, excellent coat.
I took her to the vet but he could find no clinical signs of any
problem and he gave me some urine test strips.
Only 1 test done so far.
Blood ........high 250 ery/ul
Bilirubin......high +2/+3 on +1 to +3 scale
Protein ......high 500mg/dl
Nitrite ......positive
Spec grav... high off scale at 1.030
Urobilinogen, ketones, glucose, leucocytes, ph. all normal/neg.
I am waiting for vets phone call, he is doing surgery all day so may
be some time.
Has anyone any suggestions as to probable cause.
Tony (not a vet), Sugar and Suki.
In memory of Sally and Sue.
