Heidi,
Not knowing where you are at, may Ii suggest a floor blanket for the cage. I use blankets that can be folded into fourths that fit the bottom of the cages. It gives them a place to curl up in between the blanklet. Sleep sacks are another option. We keep the temp in our home at 62 degrees during the winter. our ferrets have no problem with that temperature. We cover the cages at night also. Keeps out the light and also keeps their body heat in the cage.
