Subject: [ferrethealth] No blockage, no diagnosis
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Heard from the vet this morning. Apparently, all the barium passed and there is no more material in the stomach, so there is defnitely no blockage. Nothing unusual in the stool, either. Doctor doesn't see any abnormalities of the organs, and no abdominal fluid on either x-ray (which is what I was concerned about with the abdominal pain and pouch-shaped tummy).

Ripper reportedly ate a good amount of ferretvite this morning. They will do another x-ray this afternoon to see how he reacts to the ferretvite.

If he still can't tell what's wrong by this afternoon, he says he'll do bloodwork.

I asked whether it could possibly be juvenile lymphoma, and he said he really didn't see any indicators.

I wonder whether he could have eaten something that made him sick -- but what food or other digestible product could possibly cause the symptoms of exhaustion and abdominal pain, and then just be excreted unnoticeably? This makes no sense to me at all. If you have any suggestions, I would appreciate hearing them; I have been out of the loop on ferret health issues for a while.

Thanks!
Melissa
