Every diet has its downsides just each one has its upsides. With a raw diet there are
nutritional problems with raw eggs possible and a rather wide range of potential
infections, some serious, which they fortunately don't usually get. With kibble and soft
diets there are increased unusual dental wear and possible increased periodontal
problems, and possibly an increased risk of insulinoma for the first and sometimes the
second depending on ingredients. With any kind of diet if not properly balanced there are
nutritional deficiencies possible, as with poor grades of kibble, raw meat diets that are not
whole prey ones, unbalanced homemade diets, etc. So, no matter what diet a person
feeds it pays to read in the Archives
http://ferrethealth.org/archive/
about the potential upsides of each, the documented and studied upsides of each, the
potential downsides of each, the studied and documented upsides of each, and with an
even larger grain of salt than when reading about what is potential also people's "beliefs"
or anecdotes.
In this case it sounds mostly like a food intolerance or allergy, but always learn the rest
because that way if you ever beat the odds in a bad way you will know how to jump well
enough and fast enough. That is all that any of us can do, no matter what diet is chosen.
