Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Depo-Medrol for treating insulinoma?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
To my knowledge it is insulinoma, not lymphoma. No biopsies were done,
so anything is possible, but ultrasound showed a single nodule on the
pancreas as well as enlarged adrenal glands and a small nodule in the
spleen (which could be cancer, so lymphoma is possible....though
that's not what we're treating for). Glucose readings at the time
(back in September) were in the 30's. My vet decided, for whatever
reason, that he wanted to try the Depo-Medrol and, so far, it does
appear to be working. I am just curious as to why, if it is an
effective treatment, it isn't more commonly used.
