It's a powder, with something like 40% protein and 20% fat. It also has a lot of vitamins in it.

So far as amount, erm . . . some? It's kind of hard to tell, because you can vary the amount of liquid added so much. For Ripper, I am just trying to keep the total meal volume at 24ccs or less (which is what his vet said he could have), because his tummy was stretched out and we want it to shrink back the way it's supposed to be so he doesn't stay fat. :)

I don't think you would need it for brief illnesses. Plain baby food is probably fine for a day or two. But it looks like a good thing to give when the ferret will be off kibble for a week or two, or in cases where the ferret cannot eat more than a tiny amount of food at one sitting -- it looks like it could be made up to provide a lot of nutrients in a small volume. One thing is that the packets are fairly large and once opened, I think they spoil relatively rapidly - it says to refrigerate it after opening. It'll last a week in the fridge, opened, but longer than that, I don't know.

Best regards,
Melissa

Thank you,
