Take the rugs outside and hang over a fence or something. Use the dawn
on it and then hose it down with the water hose to get all the soap
out. Hanging allows gravity to help pull it DOWN. Hose from the top
down to remove the soap.

Yes, water will stain the unfinished floors, but it can be corrected.
Use the Murphy's wood soap on the floors. But, save yourself the
trouble and clean them outside and dry before bringing it in. If you
don't want to take them outside, you can slip a plastic placemat under
the area (yes, you may have to move a bit of furniture) before cleaning.
