He is the ferret that also had the urachal diverticulum. He is two
weeks post-op and had one episode of straining. He has been off and on
phenoxy and loves drinking pedialyte, therefore drinks more of it and
urinates more. We are stopping the phenoxy today to see what happens.
I don't know what he was fed on the farm, mink chow or something. All
three ferrets were a brilliant tangerine color when I got them. What
has me worried is it something I did? Is the better quality food what
caused this? I don't understand how he survived as long as he did under
the conditions he was in. You would think if he blocked there he would
have died as no one would have noticed. I had him three weeks on a good
diet and he blocked.
I am hoping for the best but should it happen again, I will have a PU
done on him and then I will feel that I have done all I can. My boss is
is thinking about using Cosequin on him as we use it for cats. I was
even considering a raw diet for him if I could get him to eat it and it
would help. I don't want to give up on this little guy. He really
deserves to have a good life.
