Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: possibly ill ferret

There can be many things that cause a ferret to lose weight. I have an
older ferret who looks much thinner if he misses a supplement feeding
during the day. A healthy, young ferret should not have that problem,
though.

Have you taken him to the vet? At his age he should have a baseline
blood workup so that in the future you will have a comparison. An exam
will provide information as to possible problems.

Is it possible he has a blockage? Did he eat something he shouldn't? A
vet can tell you this better than just guessing. At the least it will
give you a starting point and rule out some of the issues.

renee :)
