While we have not experienced this with ferrets, as someone who has twice had sensory
pathways damaged by illness, I can say that in my own case getting back the most i could
get back took years and that some of it can change pretty suddenly if a major pathway is
completed. (Then the person can get incredibly awkward which is one place that OT and PT
come in for humans, so if the ferret suddenly gets awkward that might not be a bad thing
but might instead be a very good sign, says she who once sprayed two friends -- luckily in
medical professions so they understood -- with salad while trying to pick up a dainty
amount.)
