Subject: [ferrethealth] Checking glucose...
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Well had re-check on my ferret this am.. Normally vet sedates my
ferret and gets blood from the neck...

But I do not like having him sedated if he does not have to be.. with
some suggestions from the group... I did talk to him about using a
glucose monitor and stick to check blood... He personally usues this
for his own cat ...

He did have one and we tried twice on my Taz... He did manage to get
some blood but not enough to where it regestered on the monitor.. so
we tried on both feet, poor Taz.. did not seem to bother him much..
in between the toe. and once in one of the foot pad , but could not
get enough...

I am so frustrated that I have to have him sedated to get the blood,
I am fighting this.. trying to find an easier way... I check my mom's
blood with the monitor and it is simple.. but how do you do it with
an active ferret that everytime the wind blows he is up... and at
it...

He is adrenal and insolumic so , how often should I try to check his
glucose level ?

Thanks,
Brea...
