Subject: [ferrethealth] Newbie with a sick ferret
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi there ya'll, my names Des, and we have three ferrets (we is my
sister and i, and i guess technally they're hers) Chase, Tye, and
Louie. Louie is probually about three-four years now, and Chase and
Tye are about two. for a while now my sister and have been worried
about Louie. About a year-half ago he lost a lot of weight, than
gained it all back, than lost it, than gained a little, and the
cycle has been continuing, but there is no sugnifagant change in his
eating habbits. My sister changed his food thinking it maybe
something in that, he gained, but a few weeks later lost it. There
have been no signs of worms in his stool, and neither Chase nor Tye
have had any problems similar to his. The weight loss and gain also
doesn't seem to have much effect on his actions, whether he is bone
and skin or normal weight for a healthy ferret he is still loves to
run around and get into as much trouble as possible, and ofcourse
playing with his brothers. There is no sneezing, running nose,
unhealthy stool, gunky eyes, or well anything except the sudden
change from skin and bone to healthy looking and back again. Our
normal vet doesn't work on ferrets, and the nearest one who does is
two hours away and niether of us has a car that could go two miles
at the moment. I was hoping that someone here could give us a hint
as to what is wrong with him.
