Subject: [ferrethealth] Swollen Feet in a Ferret?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Okay yesterday I noticed my male 5 yr old was having trouble walking
so I brought him to the emergency vet. One of his hind paws was
swollen and the ER vet suspected injury so she gave him a painkiller
injection and I brought him to my regular vet today. Well he is worse
today, he continues to be listless and all his paws are swollen. He
doesn't have a temperature. He is eating and drinking okay. This all
started yesterday. He may have vomitted 2 days ago, there was vomit
in the cage but there are other ferrets in the same cage and it was
while I was at work.

Now he is on Clavamox, Prednisolone, and he had an injection of Lasix
and Sub-Q fluids at the vet.

What in the world would cause this?
