Hi Emily,
No, pred would not shrink the prostate.
Pred helps with pain and inflammation, but
it would not help with an enlarged prostate.
As Becky mentioned, a cystocentesis can be
done to empty the bladder by an Emergency Clinic
or by a clinic closer to you, but you would need to
get him treated right away if he gets to the point where
he cannot urinate from an enlarged prostate.
