Wolfy,

(Skip to the bottom for questions specifically about your case)

I don't think this is the case, but I just wanted to mention that when
I was in Michigan I and the farm horse, the kids, and the farmer I was
working for (as well as the cat) ended up with a mutant strain of
tinea versicolor, which truly is not a "ringworm" (it was mistaken for
ringworm when it was first identified).

I believe I got it from the barn while either taking care of the wild
cats, dropping hay bales, or brushing the horse....

The kids got it and so did I, so did the mom....all over the face, and
neck and chest. Areas I guess that were in contact with the air and
dander, etc. It also was on arms.

Technically tinea versicolor is NOT spreadable. That is why the
dermatologists were puzzled. I have pictures of it on me and the cat.
Sporanox and ketaconazole helped somewhat but only on and off. Also we
used several other things since nothing was working...we all had it
for about a year and then it resolved. During that time I was
extremely careful not to kiss or handle the babies too much (the ferrets).

As for the splotches - was the skin sort of crusty? Any flaking?
Clumps of hair coming out with dried skin or flakes with yellowish
skin at the base of the tuft? Are you using the Trypzyme-V on it and
if so how is it doing? Did it stop spreading?
