I'll say that stuff is not innocuous.

I just about had a major emergency here, and a minor heart attack.

A couple of hours ago my Alpha got a face full of poof from my newest
little Ohio rescue who is not descented. My Alpha's face was wet from
it. She sort of staggered then sat very still staring off, her eyes
clouded over and developed a distinct red tint. She moved a bit and
bumped into the side of the cage and then crawled under it. I got her
out of there and quickly rinsed her off and then put her into a blanket
in the corner, while I rushed around getting everyone else put away.

I was going to take her to the emergency clinic and called ahead. They
told me that the rinsing off should have helped but to bring her in if
her eyes had not returned to normal or if she was still having trouble
seeing.

When I checked again she was trembling but her eyes looked normal. I
held her wrapped in the blanket in my lap until she stopped trembling.
Then put her down and she seemed to be okay. Last I checked she was
snuggling with her buddies and seemed fine. But man what a scare!!

I will be speaking to my vet tomorrow about having my newest baby
descented. I am simply not prepared to risk another episode like that
nor do I want to isolate the Newbie from the others.

I know there's pros and cons to descenting but this episode has nailed
it for me.
