Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Strange question about poof
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I'm not trying to argue with anyone's decision. And I do have a
similar problem here. But there is something I want to try before
even considering surgery. It's Prozac. There was a recent discussion
on this board about using prozac to ease the transition process for
"attack ferrets" of various persuasions, including those who attack
other ferrets. Sounds worth a try to me. Otherwise, the poofing may
stop (well, of course it would) but the attacking would continue,
and the issue of attacks would still be there so they'd have to be
kept seperate anyway and the surgery would have been a waste,
even for what it was intended to help. I do assume, from the
number of descented ferrets out there, that it can't be super risky.
But still, if everybody in the business could just relax even for a little
while and learn to get along, that would be a happier, cheaper
solution as far as I'm concerned.
