Wow are you lucky! :-) I don't think I can count the number of times I've had to smell poof. As soon as mine get into a squabble with each other - POOF! Sometimes it's how I find them when they are missing - follow the smell. LOL

Fortunately, none have had a negative reaction to it, and while the smell is horrendous enough to occasionally drive me choking and gasping from the house after opening all the windows, it does tend to fade quickly. I just hate when it gets into bedding (or my clothes or carpet) as it takes longer to go away.

Would I descent mine because of it? No. It's a survivable odor, however bad.
