To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I have made a conserted effort for the past 2 years to feed my ferrets
raw meat but it has not been successful. I began with organic ground
rabbit and have tried ground chicken, turkey, veal and beef. I have
tried it raw by itself, mixed with kibble, and mixed with ferretone. I
have mixed different proportions, different temperatures, different
degrees of rawness. I have steamed it, sauteed it in olive oil.

They will not eat it!

I had concluded it was because they were not introduced to raw meat at
an early age. They were all mature ferrets by the time I got them.

However, I am certainly willing to give it another shot, short of
feeding live prey. Suggestions for other ways to prepare it are welcome.
