instead of grinding it up, why not try whole chunks/pieces? the
whole pieces might go over better. also, since they are older, it
may just take more time for them to get comfortable with the new
food item so it might just be a matter of continuing to introduce
the whole meat to them until they decide to try it.

if you can get them to eat the 'gravy', then that might be the way
to go. once they're used to the basic cooked version, you could
gradually cook it less until it's basically a raw version and then,
once they've gotten the hang of that, try the pieces of whole raw
again and i'll bet they're go right for it. just a thought on how
to go about it.

as for not being able to get all the parts of the animal in the
grocery stores here in the us, i have to disagree with that. at
least in the area i live in.

at the 4 different grocery chainstores that are in my general
neighborhood, i regularly see all the various parts of the animals -
all the different organ meats, tongue, intestines, tripe, etc (even
pigs hooves - have no idea what they're used to make though!) as
well as the regular cuts of muscle meat and the muscle meats come
with and without the bones. i've also asked those in the meat
department for specific items (chicken/turkey hearts for example)
and they've gladly ordered it in for me (purdue has a pack of
giblets and hearts that they do) or packaged up what would otherwise
be thrown out (like the leftovers from the store cooked rotisserie
items and/or store cooked for deli slicing).

besides looking in the fresh meat section, checking the frozen area
can yield things like whole rabbit, duck, goose, quail and the
like. they're no longer commonly eaten items (in this area) so they
are rarely found in the fresh meat section - there is enough call
from the varied ethnicities in the area that the stores do keep some
in stock in the frozen section.

as for eggs, great item and readily available - mine love them
cooked (i haven't given them raw yet).
