Subject: [ferrethealth] Acidophilus supplements...
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hello,
I was at Whole Foods today and I noticed they had a small
refrigerated section of acidophilus supplements. Four of my furkids
just finished 5 weeks of amoxicillin and metronidazole, so now that
they're done I was considering a helpful bacteria supplement because
of the lengthy time on antibiotics.

Has anyone used human l. acidophilus (or other good bacteria)
supplements on ferrets? Can they be used? What type and how much
should be given?

They've got all kinds there, even infant supplements. I wondered if
they'd work better than yogurt or that funny-smelling stuff our vet
once prescribed. Most of them said non-dairy, which I thought was a
plus.

Any information is helpful, as always.
Thanks!

Missing everyone else.
