I had what I believe was good success with adding l. acidophilus to Neo's soup mix. He had to go through two rounds of amoxicillin spanning two months when fighting some pretty tough ulcers, so I began adding it to his soup, which he got 5 times daily while also fighting insulinoma. I used tablets that were 1 billion CFU, and broke off a small piece and crumbled it into powder in his soup. He probably got the equivalent of about 1/8 or 1/10 of a tablet daily. We healed the ulcers and his appetitie and weight and poops were excellent until the day we had to put him to sleep due to the insulinoma.

We have 3 ferrets now, who are all healthy, and we give them soup once a week as a treat. I still add some l. acidophilus to it just as a preventive maintenance thing.
