Subject: [ferrethealth] Undescented ferret smell
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

My five year old female undescented ferret has recently been
considerably more stinky than usual. Before the past couple of weeks,
she only used to smell ("poof") once in a while. Now she smells
almost all the time, but sometimes more strongly than others.

Everything else (eating, pooping, energy level, etc.) seems normal.

It is hard to tell if her vulva is enlarged, but it is possible.
I will be taking her in to her vet, but was wondering if anyone has
run into anything similar with their undescented ferret? Could this
be a sign of adrenal disease, or anal sac abscess?

Christine
