I have been using acidophilus for many years now. In both human and fur.
It is great when some has had diarrhea as a result of illness or meds. Milo
has probiotics in his food every day.
They are sensitive to heat to add after you have warmed the gravy. You can
not reuse the gravy after you have added....so do not add to large batches.
It will cause the gravy to spoil.
It actually has a sweet taste to it...so I have never had a ferret refuse.
In our house anyone on antibiotics also gets acidophilus or a probiotic
capsule at least twice daily. I have seen it turn diarrhea around within 24 hrs.
This was the supplement that did the trick 20 yrs ago when my daughter was a
baby with diarrhea that would not go away. Her gut was stripped of all the
good bacteria needed to digest food.
