Subject: [ferrethealth] ECE prevention, is that possible how long to quarantine
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I am considering bringing in a youngster that is about 12 weeks old. He
has been in a true quarantine at a hospital for two weeks tomarrow
because of a fire at his own house. He was bought at a petstore on
March 20 and has been in quarantine since the 22nd. Currently I have
one old lady with Kidney cysts and another with a little allergy
problem but my last truly compromised ferret was euthanized on Friday.
What can I do to protect those that are here? What do I look for? Do I
need to continue the quarantine? How long does this virus shed? Of
course the kit shows me no signs of illness I am just trying to be
careful.
Thanks,
Mary Jo
